Being originally from Taipei Taiwan, I'm puzzled over the years by the bland, below expectation Jasmine tea in the restaurants, from the Chinese grocery stores etc. It's like nobody take this popular tea seriously in the US. Sure, I enjoy my Oolong tea(from Nantou, Taiwan) tremendously, but sometimes nothing beats the pleasing, lingering aroma of Jasmine steaming up from the white porcelain cup ... IF you can find the right tea ... to me, that sure was memory afar. Then last week, someone placed a few tea bags in our Buddhist temple in Dallas, I picked one up, made the tea in a foam cup (shame on me), sipped it and immediately I reached for the tag that was dangling by the cup ... "Stassen", wow, this tea has the right combination of Jasmine fragrance and smooth green tea, my search is over. While waiting for my order to arrive, I can't help sniffing at the foam cup from time to time(shame on me twice).
